What is Tin Embossing/Debossing |
Embossing creates a magnificent graphic element by allowing designs to be raised, or depressed, in the CD Tin.
Embossing pushes the tin surface up, causing a raised image. Debossing is done using the same process but the surface
is depressed downward.

Art should be prepared slightly larger. Type size, style and spacing should be increased to compensate for the added dimension. Type should be bold without any pointed or small serifs. Rules should be at least 4 points thick. Vector art should be prepared as if it were going to print a solid color.
Embossing is a custom craft. At times, after the proofing stage our embosser may wish to make suggestions to artwork
design, that will improve the end result.
- All artwork to be embossed or debossed must be set to 100% Black
- All fonts must be converted to curves or outlines (do not send
font files to us)
- Font size must be set to a minimum of 16 points
- All artwork designed should be created in vector format
- All files must be "to size".
- Keep all strokes and lines to a minimum of 4 points
- The file must be to size. Files not supplied to Effectuality specifications
are subject to additional costs
- The file must be on the Effectuality CD Embossing Template
- Remember when designing your artwork, larger objects with less detail
yield better results
- Entire artwork should not exceed a 3" x 3" area as this is
the embossing die's maximum size

Items of note: Upon receipt of artwork, we will examine the file for errors or missing components. If a file cannot be
opened or errors are found regarding the way the art has been assembled, we will advise you as soon as possible, so that you
can decide whether or not to make your own corrections.
